Emma Woodhouse, a bright young woman, believes she is better at managing other people’s lives than she is at managing her own. She meddles in the affairs of her young protégée, Harriet Smith, a pretty and naive orphan, in an attempt to matchmake. Emma’s interference and lack of foresight, on the other hand, causes issues in her own life.
