The Other Black Girl 

Nella Rogers, a 26-year-old editing assistant at Wagner Books, is fed up with being the only Black employee. She’s tired of the solitude and microaggressions, so when Harlem-born and bred Hazel starts working in the cubicle next to hers, she’s overjoyed. They’ve only just begun comparing natural hair care regimens when a series of awkward circumstances propels Hazel to Office Darling, leaving Nella in the dust.
