Reprint of the 1948 edition from 2009. This is the first edition. Aiden Wilson Tozer was an American Christian pastor, preacher, author, magazine editor, Bible conference speaker, and spiritual mentor who lived from 1897 to 1963. His conversion occurred as a teenager in Akron, Ohio, where he was raised in a small farming hamlet in western Pennsylvania. Tozer accepted an offer to pastor his first church in 1919, five years after his conversion and without any formal theological training. This was the start of 44 years of ministry. He was a prolific writer as well. At least two of his more than 40 writings, The Pursuit of God and The Knowledge of the Holy, are considered Christian classics. His novels instil in the reader the desire and potential of a closer relationship with God. He and his wife live a basic, non-materialistic existence.
